Our Mission

Mark’s Place of Respite exists to support individuals and families impacted by mental health challenges, caregiver stress, housing instability, and systemic barriers by providing compassionate, community-based services that promote stability, dignity, and hope.

Through trauma-informed support, resource navigation, and strong community partnerships, we work to reduce isolation, strengthen wellbeing, and help people move toward lasting stability and self-sufficiency.

Who We Are: James & Partina Bailey

Mark's Place of Respite was created in loving memory of our son, JameMarkus, whose life was deeply impacted by mental health challenges. The organization was created from lived experience and love. After walking through our son's mental health journey and our family's loss, we felt called to create spaces where others would not have to navigate hard seasons alone.

We believe everyone needs respite—physically, emotionally, mentally, or spiritually—and we exist to provide a safe, compassionate space for healing, connection, and hope.

What We Offer

Mental Health Support

We lead to trauma-informed counseling and non-clincal, peer-led support groups designed to foster emotional healing and long-term resilience for individuals facing complex challenges.

Housing Assistance

We offer access to housing programs, rent relief, food pantries, and many other options to assist in securing safe and secure food and shelter.

Caregiver Resources

Understanding that while caring for a loved one can be fulfilling in many ways, it can also take an emotional, physical, and even financial toll on the care provider. Mark's Place provides caregiver stress tools, care relief navigation,  and legal and disability guidance.
